Military personnel operating in austere and contested environments face a significant risk of infections, which can rapidly degrade force readiness. Current diagnostic methods rely on laboratory based culture tests that take days to produce results, delaying treatment and increasing the likelihood of infections spreading through units. Wayfinder is developing rapid, field-deployable diagnostic capability for identifying the cause of reduced functionality in personnel, such as indication of infection and metabolic screens. By eliminating the need for lab infrastructure, Wayfinder ensures personnel in dispersed and high-risk environments can receive timely, accurate diagnoses, preventing mission disruption and sustaining operational effectiveness.
